Frankie Dettori celebrated a fourth Oaks success after guiding Enable to a five-length victory over the fancied Rhododendron at Epsom.
The 6/1 shot stayed on strongly to get the better of the market leader in only her fourth race.
The John Gosden-trained filly, winner of the Cheshire Oaks at Chester last month, relished the test of stamina in stormy conditions over the undulating 1m 4f course.
There was a brief barging match with Rhododendron two furlongs from home before she forged clear to score by five lengths.
The favourite, trained by Aidan O’Brien, travelled smoothly throughout under Ryan Moore, but couldn’t go on with the winner in the closing stages.
“When I saw Ryan wasn’t moving alongside me I thought I was in trouble,” said Dettori. “But once I saw his distress signals coming I knew my filly would stay right to the end.
“She pulled away in the last furlong and is a good filly, well done to everyone at Clarehaven, you’ve done a good job.
“She’s only run three times, she’s very good. She’s still a bit of a frame, but I think she’ll get better and better.”
