Days likely to skip Gold Cup – Condon

is likely to miss the Tattersalls on Sunday due to the fast ground, according to trainer Ken Condon.

The five-year-old has a preference for the mud and has travelled well previously with softer conditions underfoot.

Success Days was due to head to the on Sunday in good form, having finished second on his reappearance last time out in the Alleged Stakes.

However, after some warm weather this week it looks unlikely that Condon will risk taking his charge to the event, although he admits other options are currently looking quite limited.

Condon told At The Races: “I’d say it’s very unlikely. He’s all dressed up and we want to get him out.

“He’s working very well and as he missed out on the Mooresbridge as well it’s frustrating, but it’s black and white with him.

“There is a bit of rain around but they are talking about watering, so it’s very unlikely.

“It’s a shame because I’m struggling to see what else is there for him, but we’ve learned in the past he’s very much ground dependant so it looks unlikely.”
