Trainer Dermot Weld has admitted that Making Light is unlikely to travel to the Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas due to a lack of rain.
The three-year-old has claimed two of her three starts as a juvenile, including an impressive outing in the Group Three Killavullan Stakes last time out.
Weld believes the Moyglare Stud-owned star has plenty of ability and is certain she has a bright future ahead.
The trainer was hopeful of testing her in good company on Sunday at the Curragh but he is not feeling good about the conditions under foot and insists he would rather wait until it suits.
“The intention is to run, providing we get plenty of rain, which is doubtful,” Weld told At The Races.
“I want to run but I’d say she’s unlikely as she loves a nice ease in the ground. It’s beautiful weather, the track is in great shape, but getting faster all the time.
“Unless we had a dramatic change in the weather, she won’t run.
“She’s a very good Group-winning filly, but she really loves an ease in the ground and we’ll wait until we get it for her.”
