Warren Greatrex believes his talented mare The Nipper will give her competitors a run for their money at the Punchestown Festival.
The impressive six-year-old has endured some niggling injuries this season but is set for a big run in the Tattersalls Ireland Champion Novice on the Friday of the Festival later this month.
Greatrex knows The Nipper has had her setbacks but feels his charge is ready to give a good account of herself next time out.
He told Sky Sports: “She will probably go and take on the boys and run in the two-and-a-half-mile novice hurdle at Punchestown, though she will have her mares’ allowance.
“She’s won three fairly easy races so a good bit more will be needed. She needs soft ground so hopefully they will get a bit over there.
“She has had a few niggly problems this season and has been a slow burner but she has got loads of talent. She will go on her holiday in Ireland so it fits in well to take this race in.”
