Fergal O’Brien has confirmed his intention to send Colin’s Sister in pursuit of Grade One glory at Fairyhouse‘s Easter Festival.
The six-year-old looked all set to contend for the OLBG Mares’ Hurdle at last week’s Cheltenham Festival, only to be withdrawn late on due to a bruised foot.
After being given a brief rest, O’Brien has now returned her to light training and has set his sights on glory in County Meath.
Having won on all four of her outings so far this season, including a Grade Two at Sandown in February, O’Brien has confirmed she will be back in action in what he expects to be a competitive outing.
“She’s a lot better. She was ridden on Monday. She’ll canter for a couple of days and she’s fine,” said O’Brien.
“We hope to go to Fairyhouse with her in the middle of April for a Grade One mares’ novices’ hurdle. Gordon Elliott and Willie Mullins will no doubt have a stack in here, but that’s the plan at the minute.”
