Nicky Henderson has hinted the RSA Chase will be the ideal race for his charge Whisper at Cheltenham later this month.
The nine-year-old has managed to win in both his starts over fences this term, including the Dipper Novices Chase on New Year’s Day, and should be a real contender when he shows up at Prestbury Park.
Experienced trainer Henderson has been impressed with Whisper?s displays in his last two outings and feels his charge will be well suited for the distance in the upcoming RSA Chase.
He was quoted by the Racing Post: “I have been toying with Whisper whether he ought to be going two and a half or three miles. I spoke with Davy Russell last night and talked to Dai Walters [owner] who said he would leave it to us.
?I’m thinking he ought to be moving up to three miles given the type of race it is likely to be.”
