Duo set for spell on sidelines

Apprentice jockeys William Cox and Eoin Walsh are set for injury lay-offs after an incident at on night.

Cox was riding Mobley Chaos when he fell and brought down Secret Lightning who Walsh was riding. The two crashed into Binky Blue but his jockey Toby Eley walked away from the incident unscathed.

Mobley Chaos’ trainer, John Flint, said: “William is OK and is hoping to be discharged from the hospital later this morning.

“All of his scans and X-rays came back good but they just found a hairline fracture in his jaw and he’s broken some of his front teeth.

“He can’t remember very much after giving me the saddle and he is obviously very sore. I think he’ll be a bit better once he has seen the dentist to sort his teeth.

“Hopefully he will just be out for a couple of weeks and we can find a nice one for him to come back on.

“Eoin has broken his arm quite badly and I think they were hoping to operate on that today. He’s probably going to be off for a while but they are both very lucky boys to be walking away from that.”
