Connections have confirmed Footpad will not travel to England on Saturday to race in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury.
The Dual Grade One winner was expected to compete in the Grade Three handicap this weekend.
Footpad finished second at Leopardstown last month and his last win came in June last year.
The six-year-old is set to run at the Cheltenham Festival next month but connections have yet to decide his route after pulling him out of this weekend’s race.
Anthony Bromley, racing manager for owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, said: “He is entered in the Stayers’ Hurdle and the Champion Hurdle and it is not set in stone which race he will go for yet.”
