Trainer Johnny Farrelly is hopeful that Amore Alato will shine at Kempton on Boxing Day and wants Richard Johnson on board.
The seven-year-old is set to line up in the Grade One 32Red Kauto Star Novices’ Chase, better known as the Feltham, just after Christmas and is one of 13 entries for the three-mile contest.
It will be the son of Winged Love’s second outing of the season after he kicked off proceedings with victory in the Listed Future Stars Intermediate Chase race at Sandown Park on November 6.
Farrelly will now take his charge to Sunbury-on-Thames and wants Johnson to partner the gelding to success.
“I’m looking forward to running him as the Feltham has been the plan since the start of the season because he is still a novice,” said the Somerset handler.
“I’ve not seen the entries yet but hopefully Richard Johnson will be able to ride him.
“He was very good at Sandown and jumped really well. He likes Kempton as he has won round there and been placed round there over hurdles.
“Hopefully he will run well there again as he seems in good form.”
