Aidan Coleman has been given the nod to ride Coneygree in the Betfair Chase on Saturday at Haydock.
The 2015 Gold Cup winner is set for a highly-anticipated return to the track but, with regular rider Nico de Boinville sidelined, there will be a new jockey in the saddle this weekend.
At present it is Coleman who is to ride Coneygree but Richard Johnson could still end up taking the mount if Menorah is a non-runner.
Sara Bradstock, assistant trainer to her husband, Mark, said Coleman was fully aware of how things could play out ahead of the Betfair Chase.
“Basically, Aidan Coleman will be declared to ride Coneygree,” she told Sky Sports. “We’re of the understanding Richard is riding Menorah but if for any reason Menorah doesn’t run then Richard will step in.
“Aidan is fully aware of the situation and is fine with it.”
