The impressive Jenkins has been pencilled in for a novice hurdle at Newbury‘s Hennessy meeting by trainer Nick Henderson.
The four-year-old burst onto the scene with a nine-length debut victory at Newbury back in April, before narrowly missing out to Coeur De Lion on the line in his second outing at Punchestown for the Goffs Land Rover Bumper later that month.
Henderson has been pleased with Jenkins’ progress since and is now looking to unleash him again in the coming week.
“All is well with him, there’s a nice novice hurdle on the Friday of the Hennessy meeting and I thought he could start there,” he told TalkSport 2.
“He looked very impressive at Newbury and that was only supposed to be a prep for the Punchestown Bumper but he actually got beaten there and I think we’ll just put a line through that day.
“He was the best horse in the race and things didn’t go to plan.
“He’s very laid back at home, he doesn’t show off like Simonsig, Sprinter or Altior, but he has a great attitude to life, I like him.”
