Connections are pondering a possible run for Un De Sceaux in next month’s Tingle Creek Chase.
The two-mile division appears to have reopened following the retirement of the dominant Spinter Sacre and, having previously planned to keep his charge away from Nicky Henderson‘s stable star, trainer Willie Mullins is currently mulling over his schedule.
Un De Sceaux finished second behind Sprinter Sacre in both the Queen Mother and Celebration Chases last season but now looks set to taste more success following his rival’s retirement.
Part-owner Colm O’Connell says chances are the eight-year-old will now go to the Tingle Creek at Sandown on December 3, although he admits a final decision is yet to be made, with Mullins also having Douvan to consider.
O?Connell said: “We knew Sprinter Sacre was better than us so we weren’t going to take him on and were looking at France, but now he’s retired our plans might change.
“If it’s soft the Tingle Creek is certainly an option, I’m sure he’ll have the entry and as a family it’s a race we’d like to go for, but we don’t pay Willie Mullins to listen to us!”
