Charlie Hills is looking forward to seeing how Dutch Connection fares in the Breeders’ Cup Mile at Santa Anita next Saturday.
The Hungerford trainer is looking for his four-year-old colt to create a stir and force his way into the anticipated showdown between American hope Tepin and the Henry Candy-trained Limato.
Dutch Connection, who usually races over a mile, enjoyed success in the Group Two Lennox Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, while he has featured over six and a half furlongs in the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville.
A last place to Vadamos in the Prix du Moulin at Chantilly was a disappointing last outing, but Hills is happy with his shape.
He said: “I’m delighted with his weight and his work has been good as well. It looks a great race and I am looking forward to running him.
“It’s a new track and the times have been quick, but it is quite spongy. If he gets a good draw and a good pace he will be fine.”
