Trainer Ben Pauling has confirmed that Barters Hill will not be making his chasing debut at Bangor on Tuesday.
Pauling wanted to pitch the Grade One-winning hurdler, who finished in a respectable fourth position in the Albert Bartlett at the Cheltenham Festival in March, into the Download The Timeform App Novices’ Chase this week.
But with conditions set to be fast for the two and a half mile race, he has confirmed that Barters Hill will be kept under wraps.
Pauling tweeted: “Barters Hill will not run @BangorRaces tomorrow I’m afraid. Ground going to be slightly on the quick side to start the season off. #patience.”
