Candy eyes Limato Mile run

says is likely to run in the Turf rather than the Turf Sprint.

The winner has long been billed for a run next month at Santa Anita but his trainer had remained undecided on which race would suit him the best.

Candy says he plans to enter the four-year-old in both and will leave it late to make his final call.

The handler admits the Turf Sprint appears the easier of the races but feels the Breeders’ Cup Turf may suit his charge better, as it will give him time to recover if he suffers a poor start.

“We are still heading to Santa Anita at the moment,” said Candy. “He seems in good form. He will be entered in both on and we will take a decision later in the week. He will probably run in the mile.

“I feel the sprint is the easier race, but heading down that hill and round the corner – if he has one of his dozy moments in the stalls – which he hasn’t had yet – it shall be game over. He will certainly get a mile on a flat track.”
