Adrian Heskin has admitted his excitement after being appointed stable jockey to Gloucestershire trainer Tom George.
Paddy Brennan has been George’s main jockey in recent years but Heskin is now on board at Down Farm.
The 24-year-old has previously ridden as owner Barry Connell’s retained rider in Ireland but was replaced in that role by Denis O’Regan in April, and is delighted with his new position.
“Tom George’s yard are constantly producing horses for the big days,” he said. “I’m obviously very happy to be joining him and it’s a great opportunity. I’ll be moving over after the Listowel Festival in time for the new season. It’s all very exciting.”
Heskin rode Martello Tower to Grade One glory in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in 2015 and George is pleased to secure his services
“At 24, this talented rider has got experience under his belt, ambition and we both greatly look forward to working with the horses here,” he wrote on his website.
