Escobar will put his unbeaten run on the line in the Somerville Tattersall Stakes at Newmarket on September 22.
The two-year-old son of Famous Name, who is a big contender for the Investec Derby, will be pitched into the seven-furlong Group Three contest by trainer Hugo Palmer on the back of a victorious debut at Newbury in July and a follow up success last month.
Palmer said: “The plan is to go to the Somerville Tattersall Stakes on September 22. He does have a Dewhurst entry but I don’t know if I want to run him again this year as he is very much next year’s horse.
“Part of me would adore to win the Tattersall Stakes and take him into the winter an unbeaten horse.
“If, however, he does win the that race (Tattersall Stakes), then we may have to think about the Dewhurst.
“He is very well and firmly on track for his next start. He is already working with the three-year-olds and is horse that can hopefully keep the dream alive.”
