Royal Ascot winner Usherette is set to be kept under wraps until the 2017 campaign, trainer Andre Fabre has revealed.
The dual Group Two-winning four-year-old daughter of Shamardal, who won the Duke of Cambridge Stakes, has not featured since a sixth-placed finish in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket‘s July Festival.
Usherette was set to race in next month’s Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket, but Fabre has suggested that she will not travel.
The French handler said: “Usherette is fine, but she will probably not run again this season.
“She stays in training for next year, though.”
