Trainer Henry Candy has confirmed that Limato could run in the 32Red Sprint Cup at Haydock if conditions remain the same this week.
Limato was the ante-post favourite for the race but Candy had admitted earlier this month that he would give him a rest following his run in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York.
However, the drying conditions could prove too much for stablemate Twilight Son and Candy admits Limato could return.
He is expected to declare him at the five-day confirmation stage after admitting Limato is in good shape after his lastest outing.
“I shall confirm his entry for Saturday,” he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“If it came up too firm for Twilight Son and if Limato looked in the sort of form that he could cope with it, then he would run. It would be the closest between races that he’s ever attempted. He’s in good form.”
