Alexios Komnenos and Churchill are set to go head-to-head once again for the Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes at the Curragh.
The Tommy Stack-trained runner pushed Churchill all the way in their last meeting but it was the latter who took the spoils in the outing at Leopardstown.
September 11 will see the pair once again compete for the win and Fozzy Stack, assistant to his father Tommy, believes Alexios Komnenos is looking in great shape for the trip to the Curragh.
“He’s getting on well and the plan is to go to the National Stakes with him,” he said. “He ran a great race last time and it looks like we’ll have to take Churchill on again anyway. It’s all good with him, he seems well.”
