William Haggas says supplementing Mutakayyef for the Irish Champions Stakes on September 10 remains an option.
The five-year-old has impressed with wins at York and Ascot this season and is now being tipped for Group One success over a mile and a quarter.
After running well on the way to third in last week’s Juddmonte International, Haggas knows his charge can mix it with high calibre horses.
This has led to connections looking for entries into the remaining big races on the calendar and it is believed owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum would sanction paying 75,000 euros to supplement the gelding for the Irish Champions Stakes.
Haggas admits the race at Leopardstown is one of the options the camp are considering for son of Sea The Stars.
He said: “He is absolutely fine and ran a great race at York last week.
“We’re looking at various options, but there’s a chance he could be supplemented for the Irish Champion.”
