Trainer Hugo Palmer says Galileo Gold could next feature at Deauville on August 14 after a strong performance recently.
Galileo Gold took part in the Qatar Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last week and narrowly missed out on clinching victory, finishing second to Aidan O’Brien‘s The Gurkha by a neck.
The three-year-old, who triumphed at Ascot last month in the St James’s Palace Stakes, put in a good display and thoughts are now turning towards his next appearance.
Palmer appears to be thinking towards a French outing and has revealed discussions will take place over whether to have a crack at the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard Jacques le Marois next month.
“I’ll have to see how the horses are this week,” he told reporters. “The opportunities are fairly obvious. Galileo Gold is in the Jacques le Marois and we’ll discuss it and make plans.
“I haven’t seen much of him since the race.”
