Chest infection sidelines Fallon

will miss the next few days of action after being diagnosed with a chest infection.

The multiple champion jockey looked troubled during his opening ride at Down Royal on Saturday and having declared himself unwell, relinquished the remainder of his rides on the card.

After the meeting he went to see the site doctor and was handed some medication and told to take a few days off.

It meant the 51-year-old missed three rides on Sunday at Gowran Park and his agent Ruaidhri Tierney confirmed he would now need to take time off to recover.

“Kieren rode in the first at Down Royal yesterday, but felt terrible afterwards,” Tierney said. “He went to see the Turf Club doctor on Saturday night and he has a very bad chest infection.

“He’s put him on some strong medication and he’ll need a couple of days off.

“He won’t be riding today, but once the medication kicks in he should be fine. I’d say he’ll be back riding on either or .”
