Mick Halford has confirmed that Anamba is set to feature in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot following her win at Naas last month.
The filly enjoyed a winning debut at the expense of Coolmore last season, before having to settle for second in another Group Three match-up with her rival from the powerful Aidan O’Brien operation later in the year.
Soft ground then scuppered Halford’s plan to race Anamba in the Irish 1,000 Guineas as he opted for a Listed race at Naas, which she won by two lengths. And he has now confirmed that Royal Ascot is the next destination.
“Anamba is in really good form, she’s taken her race very well,” said Halford.
“I couldn’t have been happier with her and we’ll look to Ascot now, she’s in the Coronation and all things being equal she’ll go.”
