Annie Power produced another flawless performance to rout her rivals in the Grade 1 Aintree Hurdle.
A brilliant winner of the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham three weeks ago, the mare was even more impressive at Aintree as she again put My Tent Or Yours and Nichols Canyon firmly in their place.
Ruby Walsh barely moved a muscle in the saddle as Annie Power eased clear up the long home straight to complete a double for trainer Willie Mullins following Apple’s Jade’s earlier success.
The first four home from the Champion Hurdle lined up in the 2m4f contest and it was Nichols Canyon who led through the early stages.
However, he constantly forfeited ground by jumping to his right before The New One, fourth at Cheltenham, fell at the last flight in the home straight first time around.
Annie Power took over going past the winning post as Nichols Canyon and My Tent Or Yours travelled in her slipstream.
Turning into the home straight, the trio jumped the third last almost in a line, but Walsh then let out an inch of rein as Annie Power sauntered away.
My Tent Or Yours tried to give chase, but Barry Geraghty appeared to accept the inevitable between the final two hurdles before his mount ploughed through the last.
Walsh shook Annie Power up inside the final 100 yards to come home 18 lengths clear of My Tent Or Yours, with Nichols Canyon another nine lengths away in third.
