Connections are happy for Lil Rockerfeller to race in Sunday’s National Spirit Hurdle at Fontwell after his workout on Tuesday.
It looks set to be a cracking race at the weekend with a decent field boosted by an increase in prize money to £80,000.
Cheltenham Festival winners Cheltenian and Medinas will both make an appearance, alongside Paul Nicholls‘ Grade One-winning juvenile Adrien Du Pont and Alan King‘s Grumeti but trainer Neil King is more than happy to let Lil Rockerfeller go after his work on the gallops.
“It looks the right race for him,” he said. “Two and a half miles is his trip and with the boost to the prize money this year, we’ve had our eye on it for a while.
“He worked very well this morning and I’d dare say he’ll be running.”
The son of Hard Spun was a decent third last time out at Ascot in January and was last seen in the winner’s circle at Sandown in December last year.
