There’s a valuable handicap hurdle over the minimum trip at Musselburgh where top-weight Holly Bush Henry attempts to defy a 14lbs rise for his Doncaster win last month. If that looks harsh Shrewd has been raised 15lbs for his recent C&D success on good to soft ground although he would still have been the selection on similar ground; conditions are likely to be a lot more testing this afternoon.
Despite the steadier of 11st 12lbs Zaidyn (2.55) looks sure to run well for Brian Ellison and Danny Cook; the selection finished second at Haydock off a 4lbs lower mark back in November on soft ground and would subsequently have gone very close over today’s C&D but for blundering at the last.
Jamie Bargary takes off a valuable 5lbs from the back of On The Case (3.30) for Tom George and he is taken to land what looks, at first glance, a modest 0-105 handicap chase. He would prefer better ground but his sole win came in Scotland on a flat right-handed track and connections may have found a similar winning opportunity north of the border.
