Drumacoo will run at the Reynoldstown Novices’ Chase at Ascot next month, as he bids to prove his Cheltenham Festival credentials.
The seven-year-old moved into contention to run in the RSA Chase at the festival after he defeated an above-average field to secure a victory in the Racing UK Profits Returned To Racing Novices’ Chase at Huntingdon earlier this month.
The bay gelding will now get another chance to impress at Ascot and, if he emerges from that race unscathed, then trainer Ben Pauling has confirmed that he is likely to feature at Cheltenham.
He said: “Drumacoo has come out of his last race absolutely fine and I could not be any happier with him. He will head to the Reynoldstown next and if he comes out of that well then we would look towards the RSA.”
Drumacoo has won his last four races, with his last failure coming at the Riverfest Flat Race in April 2014, when he could only secure a fourth place finish.
