Trainer Oliver Sherwood says Deputy Dan has options for his next race and the Welsh Champion Hurdle at Ffos Las is one possibility.
That race on February 6 is under consideration for the eight-year-old, but the National Spirit Hurdle at Fontwell and the Rendlesham Hurdle at Haydock are also options.
“The Rendlesham at Haydock is a definite possibility and there’s also a chance we could drop him back in trip for the Welsh Champion Hurdle at Ffos Las,” Sherwood said.
“There’s even a chance he could run in the National Spirit at Fontwell – it’s between those three.”
Sherwood admits Deputy Dan is more suited to softer ground and will make a decision soon with the Welsh Champion Hurdle seemingly the preferred option.
He added: “We still don’t know what trip he wants. He’s not slow but he loves the really soft ground and you are virtually guaranteed that, and a small field, at Ffos Las.”
