Barry Geraghty looks set to fill the void left by Noel Fehily on Rock On Ruby in the Coral Hurdle at Ascot on Saturday.
Fehily has partnered the 10-year-old on his last 16 outings, beginning with their superb victory in the 2012 Stan James Champion Hurdle.
But the 36-year-old is booked to ride Silviniaco Conti in the Betfair Chase at Haydock and will not be able to make the Berkshire meeting.
While it has yet to be confirmed that Geraghty will get the ride, Harry Fry remains hopeful that the winner of 33 races at the Cheltenham Festival will be on board.
“Noel obviously has to go to Haydock as he’s committed to riding Silviniaco Conti,” he said. “The plan at the moment, all being well, is that Barry Geraghty will ride. It’s not 100 per cent, but that’s the idea at the moment.”
