David Pipe has revealed that Tom Scudamore‘s hard work is paying off as the jockey is closing in on a return to action after injury.
Scudamore has been sidelined with a knee injury after suffering a nasty fall at Huntingdon on October 13 and has been working hard to get back to fitness.
And, with the Open meeting at Cheltenham now on the horizon, the 33-year-old is doing all the right thighs to ensure that he gets to race at Prestbury Park.
“Tom has been riding out for the last couple of mornings and is gradually doing more each day, including sessions on our mechanical horse, workouts in the gym and swimming pool, and he looks to be in fine shape,” Pipe told his website.
“He will be doing some schooling later in the week, including aboard ante-post Paddy Power favourite Kings Palace.
“We will see how that goes before deciding on his (Kings Palace’s) participation for Saturday’s big race after that.”
