Golden Horn and Time Test were dealt contrasting fortunes in the post draw for the Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland on Saturday.
Epsom Derby and Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe victor Golden Horn was handed stall one for the Breeders’ Cup Turf, which is due to be his final race.
John Gosden‘s colt is due to be joined in the mile-and-a-half contest by Aidan O’Brien‘s Found, who will break from gate nine.
However, Ryan Moore, who will partner Found, has been dealt a big blow in the Breeders’ Cup Mile after Time Test was allotted stall 12 of 12. There was better luck for David O’Meara’s Mondialiste, with the Woodbine Mile winner getting stall four.
Last year’s winner Karakontie will break from stall 11, while France is also represented by Make Believe, Esoterique and Impassable.
In the Filly & Mare Turf, 1000 Guineas winner Legatissimo will come from stall three, while Ralph Beckett will hope for better luck on Secret Gesture’s latest American assignment.
Secret Gesture was disqualified from first place in the Beverley D. Stakes at Arlington in August and has been handed a tough Breeders’ Cup draw in stall 12 as she bids to improve upon last year’s fifth in the race.
In the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, O’Brien’s Waterloo Bridge has landed stall 14, while on the Friday card, Hit It A Bomb for the same trainer will come from the same stall in the Juvenile Turf. Shogun also represents Ballydoyle in that race and will be in stall four. Birchwood and Cymric will come from stalls six and 13 respectively in that contest.
In the Juvenile Fillies Turf on Friday, O’Brien saddles Alice Springs from stall three, while Jeremy Noseda’s Nemoralia is in stall nine and Richard Hannon‘s Illuminate, who will be ridden by Frankie Dettori, is in stall 10.
