Moonlight Magic followed up a debut win just eight days ago with another victory at Leopardstown on Sunday.
The Jim Bolger-trained colt won by three-quarters of a length at the Irish venue in the Best Odds Guaranteed For Tote Account Holders Eyrefield Stakes to maintain his 100 per cent race record.
Landofhopeandglory was the two-year-old’s nearest challenger, but jockey Kevin Manning was patient throughout the race and eventually got on top in the final 100 yards of the nine furlong event.
Bolger was pleased with the Godolphin-owned horse’s performance in the race and he revealed that he expects the colt to get even better over the course of the winter.
He said: “He’s a good horse. He was a little bit backward and just made it this year. I’d say he’ll improve a lot over the winter and hopefully he’ll be back here for the Derrinstown Derby Trial. He did it very well the first day but when he hit the front he idled.”
