Last year’s Champion Hurdle winner Faugheen is set to return to competitive action in the Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown.
Jockey Ruby Walsh is looking forward to riding the undefeated Irish star after revealing the meeting at Punchestown on November 15is his most likely return date.
He said in his Racing UK blog: “This morning I sat on Faugheen for the first time this season and the feel he gave me, compared to other horses I’ve ridden this summer, got me very excited.
“He’s a good jumper, strong traveller, stamina is not an issue and he has plenty of gears – he has everything. He’s very, very good.”
Faugheen will be hoping for another strong season after securing the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton last year before going on to claim the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham and then the Punchestown Champion Hurdle in May.
