Trainer John Gosden has revealed Golden Horn could make an appearance in the Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland this month.
The three-year-old stormed to victory at Longchamp in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe last time out, once again under the guidance of experienced jockey Frankie Dettori.
Success in France topped off what has been a sensational season for the colt, who has also triumphed in the Epsom Derby, Coral-Eclipse and the Qipco Irish Champion Stakes.
Golden Horn will head for stallion duties next season but Gosden admits there could be one last run this year in the showpiece event at Lexington.
“He retires to stud and the owner is quite keen on the Breeders’ Cup. It gives us one day short of a month, he’s got a great constitution and he travels well,” he said. “If he’s in good order next week, there’s no reason why he can’t go there.”
