Golden Horn has been supplemented for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, but stablemate Jack Hobbs has been taken out of the race.
John Gosden’s Epsom Derby winner Golden Horn had been expected to be added to the Arc field, with owner Anthony Oppenheimer paying the 120,000 euros fee to supplement the colt for Sunday’s Longchamp feature.
With Golden Horn now included in the field, Derby runner-up Jack Hobbs has been withdrawn and will be aimed instead at the Champion Stakes at Ascot later in the month.
Gosden also saddles the only other British runner left in the race in the shape of Eagle Top, who disappointed in an Arc trial at Newbury last time out.
In addition to Golden Horn, Spiritjim and Shahah, who will act as a pacemaker for the hat-trick seeking Treve, have been supplemented for the Group 1 over a mile-and-a-half.
It means a field of 18 is likely to go to post on Sunday, with Ireland responsible for three of the runners. Aidan O’Brien has the fillies Found and Tapestry engaged, while Dermot Weld has kept in Free Eagle. Found and Free Eagle filled the places behind Golden Horn in a controversial renewal of the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown last month.
Andre Fabre, who has won the race seven times, has three horses set to go to post, including French Derby winner New Bay and last year’s runner-up Flintshire.
