Saeed bin Suroor has revealed Sky Hunter is being primed for a tilt at the Emirates Melbourne Cup in Australia.
The five-year-old made his first appearance in just over six months at Newbury on Saturday and managed to clinch second place in the Dubai Duty Free Legacy Cup.
Jamie Spencer guided The Corsican to victory but the impressive performance from Sky Hunter, who has won once at Meydan this season, is enough to merit a trip down under.
“I was very happy with him (on Saturday) and he has come out of the race in good form,” Suroor said. “The plan is to take him to Australia for the Melbourne Cup.
“Hopefully that will be his next race.”
Sky Hunter has picked up two other victories in his career, having scored at Newbury and at Maisons-Laffitte in the Finasseur Stakes.
