Balding to decide on Elm Park entry

says he will make a decision over ‘s Champions Day entry closer to the event.

The three-year-old recovered from his poor showing in to win a Listed race at on , coming home two lengths clear of Gabrial.

After such a strong return to form, attention has now turned to his options for Champions Day at on October 17.

Balding has confirmed that Elm Park has entries for both the Champion Stakes and the Queen Elizabeth II and says he will decide which one to go for closer to the day.

The trainer said: “He’s in those two races on Champions Day at Ascot and we will train him for the day and make a decision that week on which race he runs in.

“He’s a winner at a mile so is no slouch and a stiff mile on soft ground might suit him best but it will also depend on the likely opposition.”
