Pallasator set for Ascot chance

Pallasator will run in the Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup at after his star performance at .

The six-year-old beat Clondaw Warrior by three-quarters-of-a-length in the Doncaster Cup to record his first success of the year.

It was thought that the son of Motivator might head for the Betfred but trainer Sir Mark Prescott has revealed that he has other plans for the Qatar -owned star.

“He won’t run in the Cesarewitch, obviously, given his owners sponsor British Champions Day – that’s his target in the two-miler where he ran very well last year and was third,” Prescott told At The Races.

And the handler is hoping that Pallasator will follow his trend of misbehaving in the build-up to a race before settling down to get the job done.

“He’s difficult to groom and makes everything difficult until he gets to the start of the race,” he added. “As soon as he gets there he walks round like a perfectly normal horse. He even starts to dry off. He stands in the stalls perfectly and is a beautiful ride in the race.

“It’s just getting him from the paddock to the start and we’ll just have to live with that, I’m afraid.”
