Arabian Queen defied all the odds to claim an unlikely win in the Juddmonte International at York on Wednesday.
With Gleneagles pulling out of the race just hours before the start due to the going, the much-fancied Golden Horn (4/9f) was expected to secure the win.
It was 100/1 shot Dick Doughtywylie who made the early running and brought the group round the bend into the home stretch at York.
Arabian Queen (50/1) managed to keep in touch before passing Dick Doughtywylie, with Golden Horn also on the charge.
However, it was the outsider Arabian Queen who showed the determination to hold out and cause a real upset, with Derby winner Golden Horn having to settle for second in his first ever defeat.
