Dean Ivory is “very pleased” with the progress of Twin Sails and will next run the colt in the Listed Washington Singer Stakes.
The son of Sir Percy was beaten just a length in fourth by Galileo Gold in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Glorious Goodwood earlier this week.
Twin Sails looked poised for a place in the final stages of the race but was headed by Ibn Malik on the far rail and Palawan, who was switched to the stands’ side rail by Richard Hughes.
Ivory’s charge had gone into the race unbeaten following wins at Newbury and Salisbury previously, but the two-year-old lost nothing in defeat.
His trainer was very happy with Twin Sail’s run and will now drop him down in class on August 15 for the Washington Singer at Newbury, which was won last season by the subsequent Dewhurst Stakes winner Belardo.
“Twin Sails will next run at Newbury on 15 August all being well,” Ivory told Beforetheoff.com.
“I am very pleased with him, he is progressing into a very nice sort. I felt he should have been second the other day but that’s racing!”
