Trainer Freddy Head believes soft ground will not be an issue for his runner Solow in Wednesday‘s Qatar Sussex Stakes.
The going is expected to be on the softer side for the highly-anticipated race at Goodwood and Solow is heading into the meeting with some great form under his belt.
Head’s charge won the Dubai Turf at Meydan at the end of March before winning both the Prix d’Ispahan at Longchamp and Queen Anne at Royal Ascot.
Solow’s trainer has been impressed and believes he will certainly be a contender.
Head said: “I think he ran a very good race at Ascot and I was very happy with him. I think it was as good as his other wins.
“Goodwood should not be a problem to him as he is a very handy horse and easy to ride. He also has plenty of speed. I think that Goodwood will suit him better than the stiff mile at Ascot.
“If there is some give in the ground, it will be a big help for him as he has won on heavy.”
