Tracey Collins says the Prix Maurice de Gheest will be Majestic Queen’s next goal following Sunday’s strong showing at Fairyhouse.
After recently being bought by Godolphin Racing, the mare impressed on her first outing for her new owners by finishing second behind Ainippe in the Brownstown Stakes under the guidance of James Doyle.
She is now set to travel to France to take part in the six-and-a-half- furlong Gheest at Deauville on August 9.
Collins admits she was very happy with the horse’s showing at Fairyhouse and believes another good display next month could set her up nicely for September’s Haydock Sprint Cup.
“She ran a very good race at Fairyhouse and was only beaten by a very good filly,” Curragh-based trainer said. “There was no disgrace in that, and she’s come out of the race very well.
“We’re lucky in that she’s a flexible, competitive horse who is versatile and loves racing.
“The plan is to go to France for the Maurice de Gheest and she’s also in the Haydock Sprint Cup.”
