A look at Monday’s racing at Windsor, Carlisle and Leicester

There is excellent this evening at Windsor including the feature 6f Listed contest and an excellent field of 16 runners going to post for the £20,000+ first prize. The race revolves around Godolphin’s Pretend and whether the gelded son of Invincible Spirit can translate his excellent all-weather form onto the turf. Charlie Appleby’s 4-y-o was last seen comfortably landing the AW Sprint Championships at on Good Friday however as seen by Tryster disappointing in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes at on Thursday, is far from a certainty  to adapt to conditions so easily.

Marco Botti’s Naadiir is a fascinating contender in first-time head-gear, as is George Margarson’s Lucky Kristale, however Outback Traveller (7.25) is chanced to make it third time lucky this season under Jimmy Fortune. Jeremy Noseda’s colt made a pleasing return when finishing a narrow second on his seasonal debut at , with the winner franking that form subsequently. Whilst disappointing last time out over 7f at , he is worth chancing again dropping down in trip.

Bushcraft (7.35) looks another sprinter going places and can follow-up his recent course and distance success in the 6f Handicap. Ed Walker’s lightly-raced 4-y-o is yet to finish out of the frame in all five career starts and defied an absence over nearly two years when landing a gamble at the track four weeks ago. Luke Morris replaces George Baker in the plate and from a 4lb higher mark should be able to steer the selection to success once more.

Curbyourenthusiasm (8.55) scored on the same card as Bushcraft last month and can go in again for David Simcock and Jamie Spencer. The selection was well-punted on his two handicap starts last term and despite coming up short at ant Ffos Las respectively, fully made amends on his seasonal debut over a mile and a half. A 7lb rise at the weights seems more than far and he is taken to continue his ascent accordingly.

Roger Varian’s El Tel (8.25) was backed like a good thing last time out at Wolverhampton and despite finding one too good on the all-weather, can make it third time lucky under Freddy Tylicki in the 1m 2f maiden. The selection lost his chance early when pulling too hard under Tylicki before staying on strongly in the closing stages over a mile and the son of Sixties icon can make amends now upped in trip.

Richard Fahey landed an x-the-card treble on Saturday and Fishergate (6.40) can continue the stable’s excellent form in the 5f Maiden at Carlisle. The selection chased home Easton Angel last time out at , with the winner subsequently Royal Ascot bound after hacking up upped in a Conditions Race on her next start. The Pastoral Pursuits colt is taken to get the better of Mark Johnston’s Chicago School, who was likewise well-backed before running into one on his debut at a racetrack, likewise at Musselburgh.

Adaay was cut to 4/1 (From 14s) with for the inaugural Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot after lowering the colours of Limato at Haydock and Flying Fantasy (3.20) can give the stable further success in at Leicester. The selection was well-backed for its handicap debut when finishing third at Chelmsford in April however duly made amends winning a competitive handicap at Newmarket. The selection showed signs of greenness hanging in the final furlong however a step up in trip should be able to see him comfortably defy a 2lb rise at the weights.

Luke Morris is Lingfield bound this afternoon and rides Night Generation (5.10) for boss Sir Mark Prescott in the handicap over an extended ten furlongs. The selection is a fascinating runner from an opening mark of 55 and should have more to offer now stepped up in trip after showing little ability in three 7f maidens at Newcastle and Wolverhampton.
