Connections of The Giant Bolster say they will take time before deciding his next race after his heavy fall at Punchestown.
The 10-year-old was jumping well on Wednesday before taking a heavy tumble two fences from home in the Punchestown Gold Cup.
There were concerns over The Giant Bolster as the screens went up around the horse after the fall.
Trainer David Bridgwater has admitted it looked bad but believes the horse is now in good shape and time will be taken before deciding his next race.
He said: “We’ll just let the dust settle as the horse had a hell of a spill yesterday and he’s more than just a racehorse to the owners.
“He’ll go out in the field now and we’ve got all summer to decide what we’re going to do with him in the future.
“The Gold Cup looks like being a fantastic race next year. Whether we’re involved in it or not is another thing.”
