US Army Ranger is believed to be impressing behind the scenes ahead of a potential run in the Melbourne Cup next month.
Five-time Melbourne Cup-winning owner Lloyd Williams is keeping a watchful eye over US Army Ranger and stablemate Rekindling ahead of the potential trip Down Under.
Williams’ son, Nick, has been impressed with the pair over in Ireland and feels the duo are looking sharp after moving to Joseph O’Brien‘s yard.
“They’ve been quarantined over in Ireland and Joseph is very happy with both horses,” he told www.racing.com.
“I think Rekindling in particular is a very promising young horse. He’s a three-year-old and he’s got 51.5 kilograms in the Cup.
“He’s a very light horse and he won’t take much work when he gets here.”
