Winx set for Euro campaign

Australian super star Winx is being lined up for a campaign in Europe and a race in Britain could be on the cards for next year.

The mare’s trainer Chris Waller has revealed Winx, who has won every race she has entered since May 2015, is wanted the world over after such a great run of form and there is a chance the six-year-old could be set for a campaign in Europe.

Waller told BBC: “The world is interested in this horse, and they’re in awe of her performances.

“I don’t think we have to go [internationally] but I think the world’s saying, ‘Listen, can you come over – we’d really appreciate you to come’.

“If we were to go, we wouldn’t go for one particular race, we’d probably give her a campaign. We’ll take her through a range of distances.”

Officials at Royal are apparently hoping Winx could make an appearance next June. Meanwhile, next on the list for the mare is the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington on 7 October.
