Sir Michael Stoute says he is weighing up sending Ulysses to France for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe after his recent York success.
The four-year-old is enjoying a bumper season having won both the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown and the Juddmonte International on the Knavesmire, while he also came close to a Royal Ascot triumph when finishing runner-up to Enable in the King George.
A rematch with Enable now appears to be on the cards for Ulysses after Stoute revealed he is considering next month’s Arc, before sending him across the Atlantic to the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Del Mar in November.
The Highclere handler believes there is enough in Ulysses’ tank to take on both races as he looks to end the year in style – and if you agree, why not put a few quid on it?
He tod the Yorkshire Post: “The Arc is very possible and we’re aiming for that at the moment.
“The Breeders Cup is not until five weeks after the Arc, so there’s plenty of time between both races.”
