Jockey Barry Geraghty is set for a further three weeks on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury.
Geraghty, the retained rider to owner JP McManus, fell at Killarney last week and the initial prognosis suggested he would have to spend a week on the sidelines recovering from soft tissue damage.
However, further investigation has revealed a hairline fracture of his shoulder blade and he now faces an extended period out of the saddle.
“It showed up on an MRI on Friday. I had an X-ray on Tuesday. It’s probably another three weeks I’m looking at,” said Geraghty.
“I’ll be seeing my surgeon in another fortnight and we’ll have a better idea then, but it’s looking like that.
“It’s obviously not great being on the sidelines again, but hopefully I’m putting my bad luck behind me and I’m hoping for a clear run.”
Geraghty has been unlucky with injuries this year as he was forced to miss the Cheltenham Festival with lung and rib problems and has also sustained a broken arm.
