Potters Corner set for Cheltenham outing
Trainer Christian Williams has revealed Potters Corner will run at Cheltenham ahead of the 2021 Grand National.
The 11-year-old finished seventh at Warwick this month as he made his first appearance in over 60 days.
Potters Corner, who has won the Midlands and Welsh Grand Nationals in the past, is reportedly in good form, with connections dreaming over a Grand National success in April.
Williams admits the task at Warwick proved too much due to the pace of the track, but he insists his charge will now head to Prestbury Park as a final warm-up for Aintree‘s Festival.
He told reporters: “Warwick would be a sharp-enough track for him, and he’s got a career-high mark over hurdles and is an 11-year-old, so he probably had it all to do.
“We were very pleased. He ran well until turning in. It was a nice positive run. He’ll go straight to the cross-country race at Cheltenham; I’d have thought.
“That will be his prep for the National.”
